Asked by Nannies13 Aug 30, at The timing belt tension is set when it is installed and should not change unless something is coming loose, common failures are, water pump and timing belt idlers. Fortunately this engine is not an interference zx2 so if the timing belt did snap due to slack it would not damage the engine, but to prevent getting stranded due to that have it repaired quickly. Tight the timing belt
The tensioner is incorporated into the waterpump drive. There is only one suitable correction. Replace belttensionerand waterpump assembly at the same time or GuruWS29Q answered 4 months ago.
I had timing Ford Escort ZX2 2. I have no other damage. Car runs ok but am at KM and was wondering when I should get the escort belt changed.
CarGurus has nationwide Escort listings and the tools to find you a great deal.
